At our December meeting we hold a memorial candle lighting service to honor our children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters.  All family members are invited. The service consists of a short program with music.  We are then, each of us given an opportunity to light a candle in our child’s memory and speak their name.  Our primary focus during this time is remembering our precious children and giving to them a special service amidst the holiday season.

Following the service we have a time of fellowship.  Each of us brings a favorite holiday food of our child's to share and we place their photo along side of the dish.  This is a wonderful opportunity to share stories and memories with each other as we are introduced to each others children through their photos, favorite foods and our stories.

World Wide Candle Lighting

The World Wide Candle Lighting Service is held the second Sunday of each December.  This candle lighting service creates a virtual 24 hour wave of light around the world as each time zone lights their candles at 7PM for 1 hour.  If there are no services held in your area, please light a candle in your own home wherever you are and invite family and friends to do the same as a way to honor and remember our children that have died.  For more information go to the national web site www.compassionatefriends.org
